Aesthetic, comfortable and convenient – combination prostheses
A combination prosthesis is comfortable, convenient and highly aesthetic.
Do you have several teeth that need to be replaced? Do you also have a number of your own teeth with strong roots? Then you could decide on the highly aesthetic, comfortable and convenient alternative of a “combination prosthesis”. This kind of restoration is a combination of fixed and removable parts, hence its name. There are high-precision dental anchorage systems available to securely attach the removable parts to the fixed parts (such as crowns, bridges or implants). The choice of system will depend on the strength of the supporting teeth, the position of the prosthesis in the mouth, and, above all, on your requirements. A combination prosthesis is intended to stay in the mouth all the time and is only removed for periodic thorough cleaning.
Recover lost quality of life with a combination prosthesis.
If you need to have several teeth replaced but do not want a combination prosthesis, then, depending on the indication, the following restoration methods may also be suitable for you:
- A fixed restoration such as a bridge.
- A removable, clasp-retained prosthesis. This is attached to other teeth using a clasp, which is usually easily visible. Optically, a clasp-retained prosthesis is a very unattractive solution. Furthermore, the clasp puts quite a heavy burden on the supporting teeth.
- An implant-based restoration – the comfort solution
Some advantages of a combination prosthesis:
- Very aesthetically appealing
- Extremely comfortable
- Secure (the restoration remains firmly and dependably attached)
- Easy to thoroughly clean
- The removable part can be added to if further teeth need to be replaced later
